The picture is Lower Timberline 4 miles east of Packwood. Sorry I’ve not blogged for a while, the last week was busy, digging out driveways, thawing out water-meter boxes, shoveling snow at cabins and on and on! But the skiing has been absolutely great and we’re about to get new snow too! (Hopefully just at White Pass and not here.) We hope to get some warmer temps down here in the Packwood area but it was 24 degrees this morning, and has come up to 30 degrees now at 2pm. (This is Sunday Dec 18). We hope to get some 40 degree, daytime temps this week too. That will help thaw the roads around the cabins, but there’s lots of snow everywhere ensuring a White Christmas here.

I skied yesterday and the snow at White Pass was great! Groomers smooth, and in the trees it’s soft and fluffy. The whole mountain is open and I am reminded of how, even on a busy Saturday, the lift lines at White are, if any, very short. Last year Kim and I went to Whistler. What a mistake! The lift lines were insane, 15 min to 1/2 hour and it was icy, while White Pass back here got 20-21 inches of powder! The best thing about Whistler was the sushi.

Well, make your ski plans, La Nina has gifted us with lots of snow! Btw, Alpine Annie’s still is available for Christmas, as of now, the 18th.

Merry Christmas!
