This is Paul at White Pass Lodging. It’s time to wax up those boards!

We are getting our skis, ski boots, gloves, goggles, gators and all that ski stuff out. I’m going to put our Thule car-top ski carrier on today too! Okay, the latest White Pass info from NWAC (Northwest Avalanche Center) is: 11 inches at 5800 ft so far, and the forecast is for snow every day through Thanksgiving and on… with low snow levels! These are our two favorite sites for White Pass weather: NWAC Weather and National Weather Service

Over the weekend I talked to reliable sources at the Pass. They weren’t sure but thought it might be possible for the Pass to have a limited opening this weekend, the Saturday and Sunday following Thanksgiving! We’ll see.

A friend drove over Cayuse Pass last night (HWY 123 to HWY 410). He said there was a foot of snow on the side of the road but it’s still open and drivable without 4-wheel drive. Keep an eye on this link for Cayuse closing.

We also really like Larry Schick, Washington’s  “Powder Poobah“. As a meteorologist and an avid skier Larry always has insights into the weather and what’s coming next!

Think snow!
